Crazy for You (2012)
Lower Dauphin High School was proud to present “Crazy for You” as the 2011-12 spring musical March 1-3.
The show tells the story of Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930s playboy, whose dream in life is to dance. Come to find out if the serious efforts of his mother and fiancé will get in the way of his dream. It's a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Broadway tunes.
The show was written by Ken Ludwig in the early 1990s and won three Tony Awards, including those for Best Musical, Choreographer and Costume Designer. The music includes memorable Gershwin tunes “I Can't Be Bothered Now,” “Bidin' My Time,” “ I Got Rhythm,” “ Nice Work if You Can Get It,, “Embraceable You,” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.”
Cast members include Brendan McAlester as Bobby; Rachel Chambers as Polly; Zach Johnson as Bela Zangler; Mary Kate Hoag as Irene; Leah Holbrook as Tess; and Mark Rissmiller as Lank.
