Anything Goes

Lower Dauphin High School presented “Anything Goes” in March 2003, delighting audiences with toe-tapping numbers.

Fifty-three high school students danced and sang in the story which revolves around nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, her pal Billy Crocker, Crocker's debutante-love Hope Harcourt, Hope’s fiancée Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, and Moonface Martin who slips onto the ship to avoid the FBI.

The cast of students in grades 9-12 was led by junior Lydia Graeff as “Reno” and senior Stephen Werner as “Billy.” Senior Brandon Wiestling was “Moonface Martin,” and juniors Meredith Bailey portrayed “Hope,” Megan Nazar played “Bonnie” and Adam Herneisey was “Sir Evelyn.”

Kevin Strawser was the play’s director. Debbie Heary was the producer. Linda Whitenight Hummel was the music director. Nanette Kimmel was the choreographer and Lynlee Copenhaver is the vocal coach.

Familiar songs from the musical include such Cole Porter hits as “It’s Delovely,” “Friendship,” “Blow Gabriel Blow,” and of course “Anything Goes.”
