2 Chamber Singers accepted into PMEA District 7 Choir
 Congratulations to Emily and Kaylor, who won spots in the PMEA District 7 Choir during the October auditions. The District Choir concert takes place February 6 at Hempfield High School and will be comprised of top vocalists from Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, York Counties.  Congratulations! 
 
1 Chamber Singer accepted into NAfME ALL-NATIONAL Choir
 Congratulations to Emily M, who won a Soprano I spot in the NAfME ALL-NATIONAL Choir.  The concert takes place on Wednesday, October 28 in Nashville, at the Grand Ole Opry.  Congratulations, Emily!    
 
Chamber Singers and Women's Select Choir perform throughout Pennsylvania

The Chamber Singers were selected to perform at the state conference of the American Choral Directors Association for the undergraduate conducting competition on Oct. 30. 
 
The Women's Select Choir was selected to perform at the Susquehanna University HS Treble Choir Invitational that was held Nov. 10. The girls had the opportunity to work with Susquehanna University professors Julia Thorn and Jason Vodicka, observe the university choir, and perform in Stretansky Hall.  
 
The Chamber Singers and Women's Select Choir will perform in concert with the Central Pennsylvania Symphony on Sunday, December 13.
 
 
1 Chamber Singer accepted into NAfME ALL-EASTERN Choir
Congratulations to Chris B, who won a Bass I spot in the NAfME ALL-EASTERN Choir.  The ALL-EASTERN Choir concert takes place Sunday, April 12 at 11 AM in Providence, RI.  Congratulations, Chris!    
 
1 Chamber Singer accepted into PMEA ALL-STATE Choir
 Congratulations to Emily M, who won a Soprano I spot in the PMEA ALL-STATE Choir during the auditions at the Region V festival on February 26!  The ALL-STATE Choir concert takes place March 28 at 11 AM at the Hershey Theatre.  Congratulations, Emily!    
 
2 Chamber Singers accepted into PMEA Region V Choir
 Congratulations to the Emily and Cassie, who won spots in the PMEA Region V Choir during the auditions at the District 7 festival on January 23. The Region Choir concerts takes place February 27 & 28 at Wilson High School, and singers will audition here for States.  Congratulations!  
 
6 Chamber Singers accepted into PMEA District 7 Choir
 Congratulations to the following 6 LD vocalists, who won spots in the PMEA District 7 Choir during the October 25 auditions:

The District Choir concert takes place January 24 at Gettysburg High School and will be comprised of top vocalists from Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, York Counties.  Congratulations!

3 Chamber Singers qualify for PMEA Region V Choir

3 members of the Chamber Singers- Juniors Chris B. and Cassie Z., and Senior Paul N. - have qualified to perform in the 2014 PMEA Region V Choir!  The festival will take place February 14-16 at Chambersburg Area High School.   Way to go, LD Choirs

 
 

4 Chamber Singers qualify for PMEA District 7 Choir

4 members of the Chamber Singers- Juniors Chris B. and Cassie Z., and Seniors Paul N. and Kevin B. - have qualified to perform in the 2014 PMEA District 7 Choir!  The festival will take place January 10-11 at Central Dauphin High School, under the direction of guest conductor Lawrence Doebler.  The concert is at 5 pm on Saturday, January 11, and is open to the public (tickets sold at the door, $6).  These students worked hard and were selected through an audition process involving over 700 students from Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Perry, York, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties.  Way to go, LD Choirs

2 Chamber Singers qualify for PMEA All-State Choir

2 members of the Chamber Singers- Seniors Melanie W. and Danny S., - have qualified to perform in the 2013 PMEA All-State Choir!  The festival will take place April 16-19 in Erie.  Way to go, LD Choirs

18 singers perform in Dauphin County Chorus

Congrats to the following 18 singers who performed in the Dauphin County Chorus: Jenn A, Ella B, Maddie D, Patty W, Kelsea R, Maddie M, Emily M, Devon V, Jen R, Anna N, Rachel C, Evelyn C, Michael G, Chris B, Ben H, Jake M, Connor S, and Kevin B.  The festival was held Friday and Saturday, April 5 & 6 at Susquehanna Twp HS and Founders Hall.  Way to go, LD Choirs

5 Chamber Singers qualify for PMEA Region V Choir

5 members of the Chamber Singers- Sophomore Chris B., Junior Paul N., and Seniors Melanie W., Sara J., and Danny S., - have qualified to perform in the 2013 PMEA Region V Choir!  The festival will take place March 21-23 at Hamburg High School.  Two concerts will take place, Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.  Special congrats to Mel on her solo & 3rd place finish in the Soprano 1 section.  Way to go, LD Choirs

6 Chamber Singers qualify for PMEA District 7 Choir

10 students sing in American Choral Directors Association PA Honor Choir

10 LD singers performed in the 2012 American Choral Directors Association PA Honor Choir, July 28-29 at The Pennsylvania State University.  Guest conductor was Dr. Janet Galvan of Ithaca College.  Bravo, students!

   4 students qualify for PMEA Region V Choir

 

4 members of the Chamber Singers- Sophomore Paul N., and Juniors Melanie W., Sara J., and Danny S. - have been selected to perform in the 2012 PMEA Region V Choir, March 8-10 at Waynesboro High School.  Guest conductor will be Dr. Stephen Barr.  These students worked very hard and were selected through an audition process involving the 200 students who were in the PMEA District 7 Chorus.  The Region V Choir include students from Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, Pike,Schuylkill, Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Perry, York, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties.  At this festival, students will audition for the PMEA All-State Chorus.  Congratulations and good luck!

Josh W. places 2nd in District 7 Vocal Jazz Ensemble

Congratulations to Josh W, who has been selected to perform in the 2012 PMEA District 7 Vocal Jazz Ensemble, March 15-17 at Lancaster Country Day School under the direction of guest conductors J.R. Ankney and Sara Reddington.  Josh was selected through an audition process involving students from Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Perry, York, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties, and he placed 2nd in the Tenor section.  Congratulations, Josh!

 

7 students qualify for PMEA District 7 Choir

7 members of the Chamber Singers- Sophomores Megan H. and Paul N., Juniors Melanie W., Sara J., and Danny S., and Seniors Rachel M. and Seth W. - have been selected to perform in the 2012 PMEA District 7 Choir, January 28-29 at Northern High School under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Peggy Dettwiler of Mansfield University.  These students worked very hard and were selected through an audition process involving over 700 students from Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Perry, York, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties.  Congratulations, Megan, Paul, Mel, Sara, Danny, Rachel, and Seth!

Christopher B. accepted for ACDA Eastern Division Junior High Honor Choir

Christopher was selected via competitive audition with students from the northeast states of Maine through Maryland.  The ACDA Eastern Division Honor Choirs will be held February 15-18 in Providence, RI, with the Jr. High Choir under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Judy Bowers of Florida State University.

 

10 Chorus members perform in ACDA-PA "Sweet Soundsations" Choir

Katie R., Maddy W., Cassie Z., Gabrielle L., Kara W., Evelyn Z., Molly A., Rachel B., Ruby R., and Maggie T. performed in the 2011 ACDA-PA "Sweet Soundsations" honor choir, held at Central Dauphin High School, November 4.  Under the direction of guest conductor Kristen Albert from West Chester University, the choir performed works including Randall Thompson's "A Girl's Garden".The choir was comprised of 7th-9th grade girls from South Central PA.  Great job!

9 students sing in ACDA-PA summer honor choirs

Rachel M., Melanie W., Sara J., Rachel C., Kataleena W., Hannah L., and Victoria M.performed alongside Miss Colpo in the 2011 ACDA-PA Student/Director Women's Honor Choir, at the Penn State University School of Music, August 6-7.  Daniel M. and Mark R. performed in the Men's Honor Chor.  The choirs were comprised of high school and university students from across the state, and their directors.  Guest conductors were Mary Goetze and Ethan Sperry.  Well done, students!

ACDA-PA 2011 Women

Luke F. qualifies for MENC Eastern Division All-Eastern Honor Choir
Senior Luke F. has qualified for the MENC Eastern Division All-Eastern Honor Choir.  The choir will be comprised of selected All-State vocalists from the New England area, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.  The MENC Eastern Division Conference will take place in Baltimore, MD, March 31 - April 3, with the All-Eastern Honor Choir concert taking place at 3 PM on Sunday, April 3.  Congratulations, Luke!

All-State
 

The Concert Choir, under the direction of Miss Colpo, has been accepted to perform at the 2011 PMEA State Conference.  The Conference is being held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center from April 13-16, 2011.  The Concert Choir is scheduled to perform on Friday, April 15 at 2:45 PM.  Congrats to all members and past members who helped the choir to earn this tremendous honor.  The choir was selected by a listening panel, who evaluated annonymous recordings consisting of 3 contrasting selections from the choir's 2009-2010 season.

3 students qualify for PMEA Region V Choir
3 members of the Concert Choir - Seniors Cameron C., Alex M. and Luke F. - have been selected to perform in the 2011 PMEA Region V Choir, February 24-26 at Parkland High School under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Rodney Caldwell of Susquehanna University.  These students worked exceptionally hard and were selected through an audition process involving the 200 members of the PMEA District 7 Choir, from Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, York, Perry, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties.  Congratulations!

16 Chorus members perform in ACDA-PA "Sweet Soundsations" and Men's Honor Choirs

Jacquie B., Kelsey K., Anne F., Kaitlin G., Emma I., Emily K., Olivia P., and Christy U. performed in the 2010 ACDA-PA "Sweet Soundsations" honor choir, held at Central Dauphin High School, November 5.  The choir performed under the direction of guest conductor Joy Hirokawa.  The choir was comprised of 7th-9th grade girls from South Central PA.  Shannon H., Luke M., Quinn S., Joey D., RJ I., Will K., Paul N., and Andrew Z. performed in the 2010 ACDA-PA Jr. High Men's Honor Choir, held at Allen Middle School, November 19.  The choir was comprised of 7th-9th grade young men from South Central PA, and was conducted by O. David Dietz.  Great job!

2 vocal students - Luke F. and Ella S. were selected by a series of auditions to perform at the 2010 PMEA All-State Festival, held April 21-24, 2010, in Pittsburgh.  Congrats go to Luke for being a member of the Choir, and Ella for being a member of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

3 students - Ella S., Luke F., and Ronnie M. - were selected to perform in the 2010 PMEA Region V Choir, held March 12-13, at Central Dauphin East High School.  Guest conductor was Linda Tedford of Messiah College.

8 students - Rachel M., Lindsey Y., Megan S., Ella S., Cameron C., Alex M., Luke F., and Ronnie M. have been selected to perform in the 2010 PMEA District 7 Choir.  These students were selected through an audition process involving over 600 students from Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, York, Perry, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties.  Congratulations!

Halley C., Rachel C., Kataleena W., Rhiannon M., Madison W., Katie H., Caroline C., Sara J., and Elaine G. performed in the 2009 ACDA-PA "Sweet Soundsations" honor choir, held at Central Dauphin High School, November 6.  Under the direction of guest conductor Eileen Hower from Bloomsburg University, the choir performed works including Eleanor Daley's "And God Shall Wipe Away All Tears", selections from Vivaldi's Magnificat, Paul Halley's "The Grey Selchie", "Ton The'", and "The Storm is Passing Over".  The choir was comprised of 7th-9th grade girls from South Central PA.  Great job!
