Dr. Richardson's Bio

Dr. Keith D. Richardson has taught at Eastern York HS, Central Dauphin East HS, and is currently at Lower Dauphin HS. At Lower Dauphin he serves as music department chair, directs the concert, marching, and jazz bands and various chamber groups. Additionally, he teaches courses in jazz improvisation and music theory.

Dr. Richardson earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) from Boston University for his dissertation on band directors and their use of transformational leadership to empower student leaders. He also holds degrees from Duquesne University (Masters of Music Ed.) and Messiah University (CAGS in Wind Conducting). Dr. Richardson attended Lebanon Valley College earning degrees in Music Education (BS) and Music Performance (BA). He is also National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).

Dr. Richardson is a member of the National Association for Music Education and Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. He is also the Conductor and Music Director for the South Hanover Township Band and the Lebanon Community Concert Band. He lives in Hummelstown with his wife, two kids, and dog.
